Richie Pearl Tribute Procession Run & Balloon Release

In December 2005 Richie Pearl passed away following a very brief illness. As the Clerk of the Course for the Promenade Stages Rally since 1991, Richie was a great driving force behind the event, making it the popular event it is today.

To mark this great loss to The Promenade Stages, Wallasey Motor Club and Motorsport in the North West, Wirral Council granted a special 30 minute extension to the normal road closure This allowed the the rally to start 30 minutes earlier in order to include a co-ordinated tribute procession run that took place afterthe 4th Stage of the rally.

All of the cars entered in the rally marked the occasion with a non-speed formation run culminating in a balloon release in Richie's memory.

Wallasey Motor Club would like to thank Wirral Council, Local Residents and everyone who took part and ensured a fitting tribute to a great man who is sadly missed by the sport.
